D&L is a family-owned feed store that has been in business for over 30 years. We provide a wide range of livestock and small animal feeds, as well as lawn and garden products.

The Distribution Center position has a unique combination of warehouse management as well as clerical duties revolving around receiving product, initiating and maintaining credit requests, initiating and finalizing transfers to other D&L locations as well as wholesale accounts. This is a great position for some who like to stay active as well as exercise their analytical abilities.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING LIST)

  • Customer/Store Relations:
    • Assist in managing employees to ensure store and customer needs are being met according to D&L standards.
    • Manage wholesale account orders and distribution of good. 
    • Manage distribution of goods to other D&L locations.
    • Monitor reports regarding the status of transfers and complete transfer adjustments daily. 

  • Staff Management: 
    • Assist in monitoring and determining employee schedule and staffing needs.
    • Teach employees the D&L way: All About Ag, Serve One, Serve All, Name Knowers, AgXperts.
    • Participate in store meetings and training sessions to meet the company’s objectives.
    • Work with Human Resources regarding any employee education needs or management challenges.
    • Demonstrate and support employees to adhere to the company’s policies, standards and expectations to maximize sales and profits.
    • Support and encourage high morale and level of cooperation among employees through listening, support and coaching for success.
    • Recognize employees that adhere to the company’s values and beliefs.
    • Demonstrate leadership skills to meet the company’s objectives.

  • Safety:
      • Maintain safety for staff and customers.
  • Inventory Maintenance:
    • Assist in overseeing that physical inventory procedures are followed and that counting is completed timely.
      • Cycle Counts
      • Sections Counts
    • Assist and oversee product receiving, stocking and organization.
    • Monitor reports regarding old and slow moving inventory and take appropriate action to move products to stores so they can be sold. 
    • Monitor inventory shrinkage. 
    • Monitor product returns and credits.

 

  • Warehouse Maintenance:
    • Assist in developing and implementing cleaning and grounds upkeep procedures as needed.
    • Communicate solutions, suggestions and ideas to make changes to improve efficiency and appearance. 
    • Oversee vehicle maintenance and equipment records. 

  • Other Responsibilities Include:
    • Communicate with Accounting, Marketing, Purchasing and Human Resources departments any needs for the store.
    • Any task that helps improve customer satisfaction and sales.
    • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and is action oriented to achieve results.
    • Complete required training and education.
