D&L is a family-owned feed store that has been in business for 30 years. We provide a wide range of livestock and small animal feeds, as well as lawn and garden products. We are open Monday through Saturday, and closed every Sunday.

The person filling this position must be hardworking, reliable and conscientious with good customer service skills. They must be capable of working under their own initiative and as part of a team.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING LIST

  • Customer Relations: 
  1. Manage employees to ensure customer needs are being met.
  2. Work with Outside Sales team to develop consultation list and manager customer relationships
  3. Helps customer make selections by building customer confidence; offering suggestions and opinions
  • Ordering: 
  1. Order products according to store needs and company policy and procedure.
  2. Monitor reports regarding status of Purchase Orders and Transfers 
  • Inventory Maintenance: 
  1. Delegate and oversee that physical inventory procedure are followed and that counting is completed timely.
  2. Delegating and overseeing product receiving and stocking.
  3. Monitor reports regarding old and slow moving inventory and take appropriate action.
  4. Monitor inventory shrinkage.
  • Store Maintenance: 
  1. Delegate tasks to employees to ensure store is well maintained.
  2. Develop and implement cleaning and grounds upkeep procedures as needed. 
  • Marketing: 
  1. Ensure displays and end caps are rotated and in good condition according to merchandising calendar.
  2. Keeps employees and clientele informed by notifying them of promotions, special events and future merchandise of potential interest
  3. Attends Store’s Special Events and ensures employees and customers are aware of special events.
  • Employee Education and Training: 
  1. Teaches employees the D&L way: Serve One, Serve All, All About Ag, Name Knowers: AgXperts
  2. Completes weekly employee education meetings/trainings. Leads store team to acquire knowledge needed to serve customers.
  3. Works with Human Resources regarding any employee education needs or behavior problems.
  4. Completes performance reviews with Human Resources according to policy.
  • Scheduling: 
  1. Monitors and determines employee schedule and store staffing needs, considering store budget.
  • Safety: 
  1. Ensures new employees are trained to operate equipment appropriate and safely.
  2. Monitors Vehicle and Equipment Inspection and Maintenance 
  • Communicates with Accounting, Marketing, Purchasing and Human Resources departments any needs for the store. 
  • Attends monthly manager meetings with all store managers. 
  • Any task that helps improve customer satisfaction and sales. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 

  • A passion for agriculture and pets 
  • Retail experience
