D&L is a family-owned feed store that has been in business for over 30 years. We provide a wide range of livestock and small animal feeds, as well as lawn and garden products. We are open Monday through Saturday, and closed every Sunday.

Preferred Skills & Requirements
- Agriculture and/or other product knowledge equivalent to horticulture, farming/ranching, livestock or pet experience
- Retail experience preferred
- Customer Service experience preferred
- Reading skills
- Good listening and written & verbal communication (English preferred) skills
- General math skills
- Able to lift and move items up to 30 lbs
- Ability to train, direct and guide team members
- Ability to work successfully with all levels
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Relations
- Assist in managing employees to ensure customer needs are being met according to D&L standards
- Help customers make selections by building customer confidence; offering suggestions and opinions
- Set an example to achieve excellence in customer service and maximize sales/profits
- Foster a positive image of D&L Farm and Home within the store and community
Ordering
- Order products according to store needs and company policy and procedure
- Monitor reports regarding the status of Purchase Orders and Transfers
- Responsible for handling credit memos
Inventory Maintenance
- Assist in overseeing that physical inventory procedures are followed and that counting is completed timely
- Assist in overseeing product receiving and stocking
- Monitor reports regarding old and slow moving inventory and take appropriate action
- Monitor inventory shrinkage
Store Maintenance
- Assist in developing and implementing cleaning and grounds upkeep procedures as needed.
- Communicate solutions, suggestions and ideas to make changes to improve efficiency and appearance
Marketing
Partner with Retail Specialist(s) on the following:
- Ensuring displays and end caps are rotated and in good condition according to the merchandising calendar
- Keeping employees and clientele informed by notifying them of promotions, special events and future merchandise of potential interest
- Attending special events and ensuring employees and customers are aware of such events
Employee Education and Training
- Teach employees the D&L way: All About Ag, Serve One, Serve All, Name Knowers, AgXperts.
- Participate in store meetings and training sessions to meet the company’s objectives
- Work with Human Resources regarding any employee education needs or behavior problems
- Demonstrate and support employees to adhere to company’s policies, standards and expectations to maximize sales/profits
- Support and encourage high morale and level of cooperation among employees through listening, support and coaching for success
- Assist with training of store employees including going over the weekly Huddle
- Recognize employees that adhere to the company’s values and beliefs
- Demonstrate leadership skills to meet the company’s objectives
Scheduling
- Assist in monitoring and determining employee schedule and store staffing needs, considering store budget.
Safety
- Maintain store safety for staff and customers
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Communicating with Accounting, Marketing, Purchasing and Human Resources departments regarding any needs for the store
- Fulfilling all the job duties and responsibilities of the Retail Specialist as needed
- Support the store manager with all phases of store operations
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and is action oriented to achieve results.
- Complete required training and education
- Document sale by creating or updating customer profile records in Point of Sale
- Process payments by totaling purchases; processing checks, cash, and store or other credit cards per Company Policies and Procedures
- Call customers regarding open orders and collect payments
- Any task that helps improve customer and sales and other job duties & special projects as assigned
