Now Is The Time To Apply Your 2nd Round of Pre-Emergent Weed Control To Control Summer Weeds
Pre-emergent weed control works by preventing weed seeds from germinating. For the most effective year-round control it is best to apply it 3-times a year (spring, early summer & fall). Hi-Yield Turf & Ornamental Weed & Grass Stopper is our go-to.

This second application will control the summer grassy weeds and help keep your yard looking great all summer. *See below if you plan to over-seed with Bermuda (or other warm-season grass).

Need to fill in areas in your lawn?
Now is also a good time to patch bare spots in your yard with sod, or over-seed with grass seed.
Bare spots are not only unsightly but an open invitation for weeds to move in. If you’re patching with sod make sure you loosen the soil where the sod will go and clean it of debris. Place your sod and use some weight to make sure it makes good contact with the ground. Water it well and keep it watered for about a week. Restrict traffic on the new sod for 2 weeks so it has a chance to get established.
If you’re over-seeding with Bermuda the spreading rate is 1-5 lbs per 1,000 square feet. You can broadcast spread it and water it in.
**Please note: if you’re planting to overseed with Bermuda you’ll need to skip the pre-emergent application this round – otherwise your Bermuda won’t come up!
